Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes!

Also, don't know if you're aware of this, but we have a new President now. I'm happy that he's willing to sacrifice to bring about positive change. I just hope the American people are just as eager to pay an extra few bucks in taxes or buy a hybrid car instead of a gas-guzzler, things like that. After all, evolution doesn't happen to individuals, but populations. We all have to get in the game. I'm most happy about the fact that Obama is ready and willing to bring science back to the fore. Hopefully he will silence those ID whiners and start listening to the experts when it comes to the environment and the animals that inhabit it.

And no, the Loom did not leave my blogroll. It's still there, just under a different--and wholly justified, if not a little snarky--title.

Bring on the communism!! He's as hard as the Soviet hammer, and as crooked as the sickle that crosses it! (That's a Snatch reference)

Silencing IDers is unlikely to happen, and nor should it. They will be as loud, obnoxious, and deceitful as ever, and more power to them. The more foolish they make themselves look, the better they look, IMNSHO. And It's obvious Obama understand this.

The communism comment is largely mindless. Do you have anything to add that isn't obviously partisan hackery, lantaro?

(If you respond, do keep in mind my own politics are fairly conservative--yet I voted for Obama.

(And if I seem deeply short of patience when it comes to such obviously partisan hackery, it's because I am deeply short of patience with it. Such things I expect from the playground, but when one grows up, a better dialogue is called for.)

See, this is why I need to not be facetious when leaving comments. It just doesn't translate well when you type it. I voted for the other guy, but I don't actually believe that we're going to be serving Marx, nor do I think Obama is going to drive the nation into the ground.

Also, "partisan hackery" is probably the greatest term I've ever heard.

Funny story...

I once had a friend who minded her own business through school. All through grade school she just shuffled along, being younger than most of her friends she strove to be accepted into the group. To be one of the "in" crowd.

Tell you what, she finally made it. You know how? By the skin of her teeth, she spent time fighting, she spent time negotiating, she spent time making herself into a great person. A balanced person. One to accepted all, no matter the background. The tired, the sick, and the hungry.

Most respected her for it, she protected the innocent, she did what she could to keep the peace. But that role made her enemies, her whole life had become scrutinized by everyone around her.

This lead to a hatred for her and how she lived her life. People hated her because she was too big, she'd grown out of grade school and now she was the youngest AND biggest. People hated her because she was so accepting, people hated her for what she stood for, people hated her for simply existing.

People hated her so much, they attacked her. They lured her into an alley and raped her.

What did she do? What could any self respecting person do? She struck back, she turned those people in, she tried to find some way to hurt them in the way they'd hurt her. She did what she had to to protect herself.

Best part is, she found a new direction, she decided to "change" just last week. Her new direction is this: give those people that raped her another chance. Let them free. Give them another shot to get revenge. Who could possibly hate you more than those you've turned in? Screw it, let them go and the chips will fall where they may.

Who is she? My country. My good old U.S.A.

I'd rather not live in fear, I'd rather be able to raise kids without worrying about people blowing themselves up in my neighborhood!

Why can't we all just get along?! ... Jealousy. That is all.
