Hey, remember the Silk Succubus? I've got a problem, and it requires the female perspective. See, I think she's got great potential as a character, and in fact I've spent the last week writing a fairly detailed character bio for her and reading about Christian and Jewish mythology to get her background straight. Before I get into the nitty gritty, though, I've come across a fairly significant problem.
Corsets don't work, because a corset that has two giant slits cut up the back doesn't really stay on. Neither do shirts. Lily's patagia run from her wing-shoulders (which originate on the back of her scapulae) to the top of her pelvis, just above the buttocks, so she can't wear anything with a back. What else can she wear? My only recourse has been one-piece swimsuits that tie around the neck and are otherwise backless. Do these swimsuits exist? What else can the poor succubus wear?

Halter tops that drape extremely low in the back. They'll loop around the neck in the same way, then scoop down beneath the base of the wings. I imagine the sides could be 'boned' with something strong and flexible to keep them from gaping (then again, she's a succubus, so that might not matter anyway) - I actually know of a technique for Elizabethan corsets that involves boning with hemp cord, but it's worked over the entire body of the garment, so I'm not sure how well it would translate to one or two strands.
You could either go with one-piece halter dresses, or with two-piece outfits with the bottoms riding fairly low on her hips. I don't think the wings terminating at the pelvis would be a problem with that, because lately, I can't find a pair of jeans that aren't so low-rise they aren't practically flashing the cleft of my arse anyway. But that's what long tops are for, I suppose.
Not a female, but what's holding up the top part of her outfit in the current version of the image?
Hopes and prayers, Brad. Hopes and prayers. Good tip, Marley--hadn't thought of halter tops. I suppose she could modify them to include loops for the arms. That would keep the halter top somehow tied to her sides so it wouldn't be all flappin' in the wind (as much).
Obviously not a female here, but I've known a fair number of females and seen their styles, and I'd say this Succubus could work with that neck-swimsuit thing... one other option would be to give her that wacky "V" swimsuit that Borat wears in the movie of the same name. It covers her breasts and crotch (and not much else) and straps vertically around her back, between the wings. Though making it black or gunmetal instead of yellow is definitely encouraged if you want it less cheesy than the Borat version. It's racy and sultry and suggestive as hell, but since you are going for a succubus, I'm assuming that's exactly what will work best!
A LOOOONG time ago I think I saw an issue of "Iron Man" or some similar magazine that had a girl on the cover wearing a silver version of this sideless "Boratkini" or whatever it should be called... Maybe a black leather version with some studs and a pair of long boots would do the trick. Looks goth and a bit bondage-ish but again that's what comes to mind when most people hear "succubus".
How about body paint? Then you could get really funky in whatever way you please.
Or she could wear shirts, but when she does she folds her wings over her shoulders like a bat. Hm...it really makes one wonder what the clothing styles of a hexapedal creature with the "winged humanoid" body template would be...
More and more these days there are shirts coming out that sag low, very low. In fact they have virtually no back and the fronts either have a semi-loose fitting low cut as in to mock the back just not so exaggerated. Some are made with bell sleeves and others are made of a tight spandex like material. Also I've seen "stripper shirts" that have just a turtle next and string or thick ribbon that ties in the back. SO the string could work for your succubus... she'd just have to be careful or her boobs might be exposed.
